Dispensing Propane Safely

Developed by the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) through a PERC grant, the Dispensing Propane Safely program consists of modular training materials that allow you customize training to workers’ specific job responsibilities.

The program’s first three modules — Dispenser Training Requirements; Propane Properties, Characteristics, and Safety Measures; and Dispensing Equipment — apply to anyone who dispenses propane.

Additional modules applicable to various job requirements include DOT Cylinders; Inspecting, Filling and Labeling Small Cylinders; Refueling; Maintaining and Troubleshooting Forklift Cylinders; Refueling ASME Motor Fuel and RV Tanks; and Retail Exchange Cylinder Operations.

The program also includes information on Overfill Prevention Devices (OPDs) as well as forklift and grill cylinder exchange operations.

Dispensing Propane Safely is available in two format packages: a VHS of the training program with a printed manual and a DVD of the training program with a training manual on CD-ROM.

To purchase the Dispensing Propane Safely program, visit the Propane Marketing and Resource Catalog, or call 866-905-1075.
